Summer Weeks at the Jersey Shore Are Saturday to Saturday
If you have not rented a beach house in New Jersey before, the first thing to know is that the summer market runs on full weeks, not nights. From May 15 to September 30 this house rents Saturday to Saturday: you arrive at 4:00 PM on a Saturday and leave by 10:00 AM the following Saturday. Every house on the block turns over on the same day, which is why the town feels like it changes hands once a week all summer.
That rhythm exists for a practical reason. A full changeover — strip, clean, launder, restock, inspect — takes the whole gap between a 10:00 AM checkout and a 4:00 PM check-in, and doing it properly is what keeps a house at five stars rather than four.
Outside those dates the calendar loosens considerably. Spring, fall and winter stays are flexible on both length and arrival day, and the shore in September and early October is one of the better-kept secrets on this coast: warm water, thin crowds, and everything still open. If you want a long weekend rather than a week, ask — off-season we can almost always make it work.

What Booking Direct Actually Saves You
The same house listed on a booking platform costs meaningfully more than the same house booked here, and the difference is not the nightly rate — it is everything stacked on top of it.
| Line item | Booked direct |
|---|---|
| Nightly rate | Identical |
| Platform guest service fee (typically ~14%) | $0 |
| Occupancy and sales taxes | $0 |
| Booking or processing fee | $0 |
| Typical saving on a summer week | $1,000+ |
The booking calendar on this site is the same one that drives our Airbnb availability, so nothing is double-booked and nothing is stale. You get instant confirmation, secure checkout, and the owner's phone number rather than a support queue.
Everything That Comes With the House
A beach rental is only a bargain if you are not buying the week's worth of gear that should have been there. Here is what you do not need to pack, rent or buy:
- 🎫 4 adult beach badges for the whole stay
- 🏖️ Beach chairs and umbrellas
- 🛶 Two kayaks, free to use
- 🚲 Bikes for the boardwalk run
- 🛌️ All bed linens and towels
- 🍳 Fully equipped kitchen and utensils
- 🧼 Washer and dryer in the house
- 👶 Crib and children's dinnerware
- 🎮 Board games, books and toys
- 📶 WiFi at 346 Mbps and a workspace
- 🚗 Free parking for two cars
- ⚡ Level 2 EV charger on site
The four beach badges are worth calling out on their own. They are season badges that stay with the house, so your group uses them every day of the week rather than paying $14–15 a head each morning at the gate — roughly $400 across a week for four adults. Details and current prices for extras are in our beach badge guide.
Timing Your Summer Rental
Peak weeks: July and August
The weeks around Independence Day and through August are the ones families book first, often a year ahead by guests who stayed the previous summer. If your dates are fixed by school holidays, book early — the good weeks in this town do not sit on the calendar waiting.
Shoulder weeks: late May, June and September
June is underrated. The water is coming up to temperature, the boardwalk is running, and the town is noticeably calmer than it will be four weeks later. September is better still if you are not tied to school terms: warm ocean, empty beach, and the whole place exhaling.
Off-season
October through May is quiet, flexible and cheap, and the house works surprisingly well for it — the fire pit, the full kitchen, the workspace and fast WiFi make a week here in the off-season a reasonable place to work from, if that is your situation.
Whichever window you are looking at, the live calendar shows exactly what is open. If the week you want is taken, tell us — plans change and we keep a short waiting list.
Is This the Right House for Your Group?
Eight guests across four bedrooms, laid out over four half-levels, with two full bathrooms. In practice that means two families sharing comfortably, or one larger family with the children in the twin room. The layout gives everybody somewhere to go, which matters by day four of any shared holiday.
It suits families with young children particularly well — crib, toys, games, children's dinnerware, and a quiet street. The one caveat is the water: the backyard is on the lake, so children need adult supervision and swim protection near the dock at all times. It is also pet-free and smoke-free, which guests with allergies tend to appreciate and dog owners need to know before booking.
It is not the house for a party. Quiet hours run 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, the maximum is eight registered guests, and events are not permitted. Neighbours here are year-round residents, and the reason this end of town stays pleasant is that everyone honours that.
Full room-by-room detail is on the house page, and the FAQ covers the practical questions guests ask before booking.
