Can You Buy Point Pleasant Beach Badges Online?
No. Jenkinson's does not sell beach badges online. You buy them in person, either at an open beach gate or at the Jenkinson's Pavilion Office. Arrive with a card or cash rather than expecting to sort it out in advance.
This catches a lot of visitors out, because nearly everything else about a shore trip can be booked ahead. Badges cannot. The good news is that buying at the gate takes about a minute, and children under 12 do not need one at all.
One point of confusion worth clearing up before you plan anything: Point Pleasant Beach has more than one beach operator. Jenkinson's runs the ocean beaches along the boardwalk, while the Borough runs the beaches on the Manasquan River side. Prices, rules and badge types differ between them. Everything on this page refers to Jenkinson's, because that is the beach our guests walk to.

The half-season badge covers either Memorial Day through July 18, or July 19 through Labor Day — useful if your summer is weighted to one end. The maths is worth doing before you pay at the gate twice: a full season badge costs less than ten weekend days.

Once the gates close for the day, nobody is admitted without a daily wristband or a season badge already in hand.
Is Point Pleasant Beach Free After 5 PM?
Not officially — but in practice, yes, later in the day. Jenkinson's does not publish a free-after time. What we see locally is that the gates go unstaffed toward the evening, and people walk on without being checked. Treat that as an observation from living here rather than as policy: during staffed hours you need a badge, and the safe assumption on a busy summer afternoon is that you will be asked for one.
If an evening walk on the sand is the plan rather than a full beach day, arriving late is the cheapest way to do it. Sunset over the water on this stretch of the Jersey Shore is worth the trip on its own.
What You Can and Can't Bring onto the Beach
Jenkinson's rules are clear and the size limits are more specific than most people expect. It is worth measuring the cooler before you load the car, because the walk back to the parking spot is a long one.

So a cooler of sandwiches and soft drinks, yes. A cool box the size of a suitcase, a bottle of wine, or the dog, no. On the dog question specifically: pets are not permitted on Jenkinson's beach at all, which is worth knowing before you drive down with one in the back.
Parking in Point Pleasant Beach
Parking is the other thing that catches people out in July and August. Street parking near the boardwalk fills early on weekends, and the closer you are to Jenkinson's the faster it goes. Arriving mid-morning on a Saturday in July generally means circling, then walking further than you would have from a spot you passed twenty minutes earlier.
The simplest fix is staying somewhere with parking included. Lake Louise Beach House has free on-site parking for two cars plus a Level 2 (J1772) EV charger, so the car goes on the driveway when you arrive on Saturday and does not move again until you leave. Bikes are in the shed for everything within a mile, which in this town is most of it.

Lake Louise Beach House is a three-minute walk to the quieter North Beach and two to ten minutes to Jenkinson's Boardwalk.
